Our VISION

To reveal a broader sense of community, defined simply by being human, by creating a spirit of belonging, collaboration & connection, within & across communities.

Our MISSION is twofold

To build a Human Pollinator Pathway within & across communities by 

  • Activating a collaborative HIVE Partner Network of community organizations to create community experiences that explore themes of being human

  • Fueled by the arts, culture, learning

  • Facilitated by meaningful dialogue that builds empathy, connection & a sense of community among people of diverse backgrounds & mindsets

To support The HPN Organizations by providing opportunities to

  • Engage in meaningful, actionable Peer Exchange, Connection and Collaboration with shared benefits

  • Create programs that broaden audiences and deepen engagement among all stakeholders – community, donors, board & staff 

  • Attend robust, proven PD and coaching sessions to develop a deep-needs understanding of their communities, stakeholders & staff and innovate to transform how they serve their communities

HIVE Conversations for
Community Engagement

Core to The HIVE's Mission is to foster and facilitate meaningful dialogue between individuals, within and across communities, around themes of simply being human, to create connection, a sense of belonging and deeper understanding of others. The HIVE also seeks to bring people together to share ideas on how to build stronger sense of community for all. HIVE events for community are fueled by the arts, culture or learning and involve facilitated conversations among diverse audiences and participants around human-centered themes.

Engage, Understand, reimagine,
innovate  and transform

The landscape is changing and evolving for many community organizations. There is a need to understand their community's needs at a deeper level and to provide programming with deeper engagement. They are also challenged to transform how they serve which requires new skills.

EXCITE Transformation workshops have been used across 50+ multi-national businesses as well as over 64 community organizations to train staff in the critical skills that allow them to gain this deeper community understanding as well as core skills in true collaboration and innovation required to successfully reimagine and transform.
 

DPS Workshops have been taught worldwide and can teach organization leaders how to deepen their personal performance and approach to leading using the Heart-Mind-Body techniques and mindsets of high-level classical pianists and performers.

Staff & Stakeholder Engagement Sessions It is important for Community-Driven Organizations to engage their Staff, Boards, Donors  and other stakeholders on a deeper level and to provide opportunities for them to engage, establish deeper connections and share ideas for bettering the organization.

  • Engage community in dialogue to understand both functional and emotional needs of their community at the deepest level

  • Reimagine & transform what they do and how they serve community to align with those needs

  • Engage in purposeful innovation to make sure the programs they develop hit the target.

  • Strengthen their own personal performance using Heart-Mind-Body techniques

EXCITE Transformation

Watch the 8 minute video to hear Librarians who participated in Innovation Builders' groundbreaking "EXCITE Transformation For Libraries" program to build capacity in the 21st Century Skills of Innovation and Transformation. The pilot was done in partnership with CT State Library and was awarded an IMLS Laura Bush 21st Century Librarian Program Grant that brought the EXCITE Program to Libraries across the US.
